Hall CouncilHall Council is a group of selected residents in each residence hall or complex who maintain and promote a community living environment through hall programs, evaluation of living quarters and policies, and by promoting hall pride. Members of Hall Council:

Resident Student Association (RSA)RSA's primary function is to provide a voice for students in residence life decision-making and to provide feedback on all aspects of residential student living environments. A secondary function of RSA is to serve as an overseeing, governing body for Hall Councils. RSA is designed to be an educational experience for those participating on the board. For those students engaged in planning and coordinating RSA activities, the experience is intended to foster and develop the qualities of responsibility, leadership, management, cooperation and collaboration. Residence Life Student StaffResident Assistants (RAs), Assistant Hall Directors (AHDs) and Student Hall Directors (SHDs) all serve residential students by providing leadership in the residence halls, planning community building activities, mediating roommate issues and providing assistance understanding and following college policies. Residence life student staff members gain invaluable leadership, communication, team building and conflict resolution skills through their positions. Students interested in joining the Residence Life staff are strongly encouraged to apply for positions for the upcoming school year. Resident Assistant Applications Applications are now available for Resident Assistant positions for the 2008-2009 Academic Year. The RA position is challenging and rewarding. The position calls for leadership, interpersonal skills, appreciation of diversity, and initiative. Once selected, training is provided to help build confidence in this new and challenging role. This training includes a ten-week class during winter or spring quarter, and a training before classes begin in the fall quarter and winter quarter. Please read the job description thoroughly to understand more about being a resident assistant. We encourage you to talk with the Financial Aid Office about how compensation for the position might affect next year's financial aid package.
