The Women's Studies program promotes interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding of the history, contributions, issues, and conditions affecting women in society and gender as a system. Courses in the program explore the nature and effects of gender in various national and global contexts and connect it to other important identity categories including race, class, and sexuality. In doing so, the minor helps students develop critical thinking and interaction skills and enhance their knowledge of issues facing diverse societies today.
