We are grateful for the grace, tenacity and determination that defines you as a class and as individuals.

We want to honor you.

To the Class of 2020,

Until we can safely share in your formal commencement ceremony, know this:

You can be proud to call yourself a graduate of Otterbein University*.

Your degree, your experience and your learning are worth a great deal. Not just the accomplishment itself, which is worthy of celebration, but in the totality of how your education has further enhanced who you are as a scholar, a professional and as a citizen.

Your Otterbein degree means that you are prepared to do good, meaningful work.
You have the knowledge to conquer complex problems.
You have the confidence and calm that only first-hand experience can develop.
And, you have cultivated a compassionate, engaged self-awareness of your responsibility to make things better for those you serve and advance.

This is the power of your degree.
The ceremony will be a way to celebrate it.
But the substance and weight of it belongs to you.

You earned it.

That is indeed worthy of acknowledging
Today and in the days to come.

Until we can celebrate in person, Congratulations.
