Elizabeth McMurray, Part-Time Faculty in English as a Second Language, ESL
Elizabeth has worked with English as a foreign language students for almost a decade, guiding student populations from many continents in settings as diverse as refugee centers, universities and after school language centers. She has taught in America, Turkey, Morocco, and China. Her specialties include academic and creative writing, phonetics and pronunciation, as well as grammar and reading skills. She takes a special interest in sociolinguistics and the migrations of Turkic languages throughout history, as well as oppressed minority languages and the sociopolitical aspects of their subjugation. Her favorite English language phrase currently is “deli meats.” Ask her for a good tongue twister using challenging phonemes.
