Gwendolyn G. DeRosa is the ESL Program Writing Coordinator. Mrs. DeRosa also designs online, content-based, ESL courses for students in Shanghai, China. She is the editor of the ESL Program’s magazine, The Howl. She regularly teaches Intro to Journalism, Creative Writing, Studies in American History, Marginalized Voices in American Literature, and Sociolinguistics.

Mrs. DeRosa joined the faculty of Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio as an adjunct in the ESL Program in January, 2015. Her graduate research was focused on using creative writing to improve students’ attitudes toward writing in English. Mrs. DeRosa presented her graduate research at the Annual Writer’s Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2015. Mrs. DeRosa has also presented at the Ohio TESOL Conference and the International TESOL Convention.

Mrs. DeRosa advises and mentors ESL students, works closely with the Writing Center and the ELLA’s (English Language Learner Assistants), and assists with the international student orientation, placement testing, and assessment.
