Jocelyn Curry, ’78


Jocelyn is a retired insurance executive, having served in key leadership positions for nearly 40 years with Nationwide and Allstate. Prior to retirement, Jocelyn was Vice President of Claims Services at Nationwide. In that role, Jocelyn provided the overall leadership and strategic direction for claims functions for Nationwide’s Property and Casualty companies as an executive member of the company’s services organization. Specifically, she lead Nationwide’s national claims call centers, back-office processing and language translation operation that handled customer service in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean and Vietnamese.

Jocelyn began her insurance career with Allstate after graduating from Otterbein in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. She subsequently joined Nationwide in 2000 as a field claims leader. Over her career, Jocelyn was responsible for Nationwide’s personal and commercial lines claims in multiple states – Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Michigan and Illinois – and played a pivotal role in a national claims organizational redesign that resulted in more efficient claims operations.

In addition to an undergraduate degree from Otterbein, Jocelyn received her Master of Business Administration degree from Otterbein in 2009. She lives in Vancouver, WA with her husband and has 2 grown children and 5 grandchildren on the west coast.
