Kristine King Robbins joined Otterbein University as the first Chief of Staff in the President’s Office on October 3, 2011. Prior to joining Otterbein, Robbins was a Senior Consultant for the Leadership Development Group based in Columbus, Ohio, from 2000 – 2010. In addition to her consulting work, she served as Executive Director for Leadership Westerville on a part-time basis from 2001 – 2014.
Throughout her career, Robbins has served in both public and private sectors including having been appointed as Deputy Director of Human Resources and Administration for the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office and Vice President for Human Resources and Administration for Permedion, Inc. Her experience covers a variety of industries including education, state government, manufacturing, health care, community mental health, and information services with a focus on human resource management, policy development, administration, strategic planning, leadership, and organizational development.
Robbins was elected to the Westerville City Schools Board of Education for two terms serving from 2006 through 2013. While on the Board of Education, she was elected to leadership roles as Vice President and President. She was also appointed to serve on the Ohio School Boards Association Federal Relations Network and represented the state of Ohio in Washington D.C. As an active citizen in the Westerville community, Robbins served as a board member for the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce, Westerville Education Foundation, Concord Counseling Services, Westerville City Schools Parent Council, and Uptown Review Board for the City of Westerville. At present she serves on the Columbus Advisory Board of the Ohio Diversity Council, Neighborhood Bridges Board of Directors, American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network of Ohio’s Executive Board, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Westerville Sunrise.
Robbins received a Master of Science degree in Management, Leadership, and Strategy from the Michigan State University Eli Broad College of Business. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University in International Studies with minors in Spanish and International Business. In addition, Robbins achieved certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through the Human Resources Certificate Institute. Subsequently, she achieved the SHRM Senior Certified Professional designation (SHRM-SCP).
On March 23, 2017, Robbins received a Founders Award from Leadership Westerville in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the organization while serving as Executive Director from 2001 through 2014. She also received the Service to Community Award from the Rotary Club of Westerville Sunrise for 2014-2015. Upon completing two terms on the Westerville Board of Education, Robbins received a commendation for leading “the effort to develop the vision, mission and values for the district in 2006, which resulted in the identification of five strategic goals that guided Westerville Schools in priority setting, program development, and budgeting, and created a culture of community service.”
