Ryan Berndt is a graduate of the University of Chicago and the University of Minnesota. After teaching at Yale University, Kansas State University, and Ohio State University, he settled in Columbus and began working at Otterbein where he currently chairs the Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science. He has served on multiple committees for the University, including the Covid task force, where he constructed early models that predicted the relative safety of in-person classes during the pandemic.
