Kristina Escondo is currently an Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at Otterbein University. She teaches courses on Spanish language and Latin American literatures and cultures. Her research explores the relationship between Latin America and Asia with a focus on Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. Amy Sheeran’s research focuses on the intersection of literature and race, gender, and sexuality in the discourse of blood purity in early modern Spain. Focusing on Cervantes, Calderón de la Barca, María de Zayas, and others, she explores how the bodily and the textual influence each other. Deborah Solomon, Ph. D., is an Associate Professor of East Asian History and the Department of History and Political Science chair.
