Social Distancing Inspires Literacy Project for Children in Recovery House

Sue Constable, professor of literacy acquisition and instruction at Otterbein, is leading a project to keep kids engaged in learning in the time of social distancing.  Professor Constable’s sabbatical project is providing 30 women with literacy kits for their infants and children. These women are in residential recovery houses supported by Alvis, Inc., a nonprofit human services agency whose services include research-based, comprehensive family support programs; behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services; recovery housing for women and their children; and services to individuals with developmental disabilities who are trying to live more independently in the community. Alvis serves nearly 8,000 men, women, young…

Otterbein University Will Open Campus for Fall Semester

Otterbein University announces that it intends to open campus for fall semester 2020 and safely and responsibly resume campus life, dependent upon state guidance, including in-person teaching, classes and residence life. Otterbein Offering New Master of Science in Athletic Training

The Otterbein University Graduate School will begin offering a new Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) beginning in Fall 2023. The program will begin enrolling MSAT-interested undergraduate students for the Fall 2020 semester as bachelor of science in allied health majors. Service Learning Hits Home for Otterbein’s Spiker

Even during distance learning, Otterbein students are still impacting their communities through service learning. One student saw a need close to home.
