Since 1910, OAL's annual juried exhibitions have continued to be the backbone of the organization's artistic programming, showcasing current work by Ohio artists. For each exhibition, the juror(s) invited by OAL’s Board will apply contemporary standards of excellence to select visual art of the highest merit.

Andrew Hendrixson, a native of Ohio, is an artist and writer currently based in Seattle. As an artist, he exhibits widely and most recently unveiled his 50′ glass mosaic public art project in Columbus, Ohio. He has been an artist in residence at numerous institutions including the Chautauqua Institute, the Brydcliffe Colony, and Parts & Labor. His work and writing can be found in publications including Image, Comment, Best American Essays, and New American Paintings.

  • Weight & Witness

    Alex Lewis & Jack Koppert

    Weight & Witness pairs the accumulated gravity of Alex Lewis’ ceramic and assemblage sculptures with the unflinching portraiture of Jack Koppert’s oil paintings. Together, their work engenders a domestic solemnity, punctuated by moments of surprise and humor.

    Miller Gallery
    April 27 – May 15, 2026
    Muse features work by Otterbein’s 2025-2026 Artist-in-Residence, Christopher Jackson. Jackson’s oil paintings use bold line and abstraction to explore presentations of the figure, personal narrative, and coded allegory.
