WE ARE   committed to your success.

There are plenty of notable accomplishments and national recognition that make Otterbein proud. However, what we value most – without a doubt – is the success of our students. What you learn and how you learn at Otterbein is different, and it will prepare you for the opportunities that are waiting for you after graduation.

A SMARTER WAY TO LEARN

“This quiet, peaceful village has been not-so-secretly hard at work teaching us how to listen intently, to ask the questions that need to be asked, to think critically and carefully, and to respectfully interact with all kinds of ideas, regardless of whether we agree with them.”

The strength of student-faculty interactions, both in and out of class, is one of the factors that earned Otterbein the highest marks from our first-year and senior students in a national survey.*

COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

Otterbein students work together, rather than competing for the highest grade.

DISCUSSIONS WITH DIVERSE OTHERS

Diversity and inclusion are more than just words here. Students engage with students from different races, economic backgrounds, religions and political beliefs.

STUDENT-FACULTY INTERACTIONS

Otterbein faculty know more than their students’ names, they know their dreams, strengths and areas of growth.

SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT

It’s not just faculty that care about student success. Students are supported in and out of the classroom at Otterbein.

Mentoring students is something that is really signature to Otterbein. Faculty and staff members choose to be here because they know they’ll get to mentor and teach students at an individual level.

We pride ourselves on giving indivual support – really helping students step by step.

The education we’re giving students is unique. And I really think it will prepare students to do well in their futures beyond Otterbein.
At the end of the day, we’re all about student success.

MORE PROUD FACTS

By blending the liberal arts and professional studies, Otterbein’s curriculum gives students a skill set nearly identical to the hiring priorities of the nation’s employers.

Otterbein outcomes – such as critical thinking, the ability to communicate clearly and solve complex problems – are more important to 93% of employers than a student’s specific field of study.*

My motivation – what I think I can do has changed. I’m graduating with a System Engineering degree as a first generation student. I’ve only had this opportunity because of Otterbein. Coming through this program and coming to this school has allowed me that road.

Otterbein has opened up opportunities that I don’t think I’d be able to get at other schools. I’ve had experiences that have changed my life. Overall it’s made me a better person.

After graduation I’ve been blessed with having a full-time engineering position with Honda.
