“I found this was a skill that made me competitive while looking for and even landing my first job after college.”

As an editorial intern, I helped with research, copy editing and, of course, writing. I was able to not only take on assignments from my editor, but pitch story ideas of my own to magazines I had read outside of the internship. Having the chance to bring my own ideas to the table was an invaluable experience.

I often had to learn as I went or think quickly to solve problems on the job. While this was challenging at times, I found this was a skill that made me competitive while looking for and even landing my first job after college.
