K=I worked alongside their communications and marketing manager remotely. My responsibilities included writing stories for their website and creating infographics. I got to learn about the importance of social media, and how to write a story, as well as the best uses for search engine optimization to make sure when people search on Google that our stuff pops up first.

I was also able to attend one of their major fundraising events in Florida, “Fashion Funds a Cure.” At this event, kids suffering from cancer and kids who have survived cancer got to walk on the runway with fashion models wearing clothes provided by Dillards. After the kids walked in designer clothing, they got to walk the runway as “what they wanted to be when they were older.” Kids dressed up as police officers and walked with k-9 officers and their dogs. Some even dressed up as superheroes! It was a great way to raise money and help the kids feel special for a night.
