Otterbein Community Garden

Planting With a Purpose

The purpose of the garden is to ENRICH the Westerville community by providing…

  • A unique hunger relief effort through the Give Back Garden mission, in which all plots donate some produce to local food pantries.
  • An innovative study and research site for Otterbein University students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
  • An educational site for youth to enhance academic achievement and raise cultural awareness. A living landscape to bring together and inter-generational team.
  • An environmental gateway to sustainability initiatives.

The garden is divided into plots that are cultivated by a variety of community groups, including schools, neighborhood associations, senior citizen living communities, and Otterbein University students and staff. These gardeners are welcome to use gardening tools and water provided at the site. A portion of the resulting produce is donated to the food pantries to feed members our community.
