- A unique hunger relief effort through the Give Back Garden mission, in which all plots donate some produce to local food pantries.
- An innovative study and research site for Otterbein University students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
- An educational site for youth to enhance academic achievement and raise cultural awareness. A living landscape to bring together and inter-generational team.
- An environmental gateway to sustainability initiatives.
The garden is divided into plots that are cultivated by a variety of community groups, including schools, neighborhood associations, senior citizen living communities, and Otterbein University students and staff. These gardeners are welcome to use gardening tools and water provided at the site. A portion of the resulting produce is donated to the food pantries to feed members our community.
Get Involved
Don’t want a plot but still want to be a part of the garden? Join us for one time or regular volunteer opportunities throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall! We always need help maintaining the communal plots and we regularly host events. We would love for you to volunteer! Find out about opportunities on our Facebook Page.
Location
The garden is located at the Center for Equine Studies at Otterbein University on North Spring Road and can be accessed from the Heritage Middle School parking lot. To access by GPS, search by 390 N. Spring Road
