I am a high school student...

Getting Started

WE ARE excited to have you on campus!

If this is your first visit, please join us for an Otterbein Overview offered daily.

Visits for Seniors

If you are a current high school senior you can take advantage of our Senior Experience, Cardinal Shadow Program and Overnight visits.

The Senior Experience is a good second visit which is personalized to you. Meet with your Admission Counselor, take a campus tour and add on other options such as meetings with faculty, meetings with athletic coaches, or sitting in on class.

The Cardinal Shadow Program allows you to live the life of a Cardinal, without the commitment of the Overnight visit. See what a typical day in the student’s life is like by going to class, hanging out in the residence halls, studying in the library, going to a student organization meeting, eating in the dining hall and whatever else is on the student’s schedule.

Get the full student life experience by scheduling an Overnight visit. Be paired with a student, stay in their room in the Residence Hall and get a taste of life on campus.

Visits for Visual and Performing Arts Students

If you are planning to pursue a degree in Acting, Theatre, Musical Theatre, Theatre Design & Technology, Music, Music Education, Music Performance, Music & Business, or Studio Art, this is a specialized visit for you. Learn about the admission process specific to our Visual and Performing Arts students and go on a campus tour.

Please contact our Campus Visits Team (614-823-1500 | campusvisits@otterbein.edu) if you have any questions. We look forward to welcoming you to campus!

Organized group visits

High School Students

We are excited in your interest of scheduling a group visit to Otterbein University.  The Office of Admission offers tours to groups of no more than 40 students during the academic school year. Group visits are limited to current high school students only.  Due to limited number of resources the Office of Admission will be unable to accommodate students of elementary or middle school age.

In addition to a campus tour we also like to give a general information session to students regarding the admission process, scholarships, and financial aid.  The total program lasts approximately two-and a half hours. Additional activities can be requested but will depend on the availability of the specific department or faculty member.

Group Visit Guidelines

  • Requests must be made at least three weeks in advance.   Please have a few dates in mind.  We will try our best to accommodate your top choice, but an alternative date may be needed due to staffing or other events on campus.
  • We have two visit options.  Our morning session begins at 9:15 am and concludes approximately at 11am.  The afternoon session begins at 1:15pm and ends approximately at 3pm.
  • One chaperone is needed for every ten (10) students visiting campus.  Chaperones are required to be with the group the entire time of the scheduled visit.
  • The tour is a one (1) hour walking tour and will give students a general overview of our campus.  Please encourage students to wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate apparel.
  • The Office of Admission does not provide lunch. Groups interested in eating on campus may reach out to Dining Services at 614-823-1879 or catering@otterbein.edu.
  • Questions can be directed to the Office of Admission (614-823-1500 | campusvisits@otterbein.edu).  We look forward to seeing you on our campus soon!
