Associate Professor

Amanda Kline brings an interdisciplinary approach to her artistic practice by combining the mediums of photography, video, installation, collage, and performance. Her research interests come from the fields of art history, anthropology, identity, and women and gender studies. Her practice is driven by art’s ability to create and combine fantasy with reality.

Kline is a member of The Page Collective, an artist collaboration group that facilitates community engagement through site-specific installations and participatory art projects. Their work is invested in exploration, education, and research.

Teaching students to think critically about making meaning in their work is of the utmost importance to Kline. She strives to push students outside of their comfort zones, and to experiment with subject matter, forms, presentation, and concepts.

Kline has exhibited in national and international venues including The Gateway Film Center in Columbus, Ohio; Art Index Center in Newark, New Jersey; Root Division in San Francisco, California; the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology in Liverpool, England; and the Czong Institute for Contemporary Art in South Korea.
