Julie Saker, Dean of Students, Student Affairs Division
Julie Saker enters her 20th year at Otterbein University. She has served Otterbein students in several positions including coordinator of Greek life, director of student conduct and wellness, and associate dean of students. Most recently, Saker was promoted to dean of students for Student Affairs.
Saker has over 35 years of professional experience within higher education, having held a wide variety of student affairs leadership positions at Northwestern, Saint Louis, and Washington Universities. Throughout Saker’s career, she has focused on wellness, student activities, alcohol/drug education, student conduct and assisting students in distress.
In recent years, she has been particularly active in addressing sexual misconduct policies and practices, town-gown relations and crisis intervention. As dean of students, Saker will work closely with Counseling Services, Student Health Center and University Chaplain as she continues to focus on direct service to students and assistance to faculty/staff and parents.
Saker received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and holds a master’s degree in college student personnel from Miami University.
