Sean Ryan Naughton holds a B.F.A. in Theatre & Dance from Chapman University and is a graduate of The Ohio State University’s MFA Acting program and a current lecturer in the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts where he received an award for Graduate Teaching Excellence in 2019. Sean has a twenty-year professional career in theatre, film, commercials, and new media that features extensive stage and on-camera work. His directing credits include classical and contemporary work, as well as world premieres of original new works. Sean has directed and performed for theatre companies around the country including Shakespeare Orange County, East L.A. Classic Theatre, Shakespeare at the Castle, Lord Denney’s Players, Improv Olympic West, Obvious Child Productions, Harlequin Productions (WA), Rude Guerrilla Theatre Company, and The Sound Company where he serves as Producing Artistic Director. He maintains an active professional career as an actor, interdisciplinary artist, and has appeared in dozens of national and regional commercials, industrials, television, and films that have been featured at festivals around the country including the Sundance Film Festival and the Los Angeles International Film Festival.  As a director and teaching artist for East Los Angeles Classic Theatre, he directed over two dozen devised works for young artists.  His original performance piece Sound and Fury Signifying: Macbeth premiered at the Hybrid Arts Lab this in 2021, and he was awarded Best Actor for his performance in the short film, The Final Overture by the Los Angeles International Film Festival. His specializations include acting, acting for the camera, directing, devised works, and improvisation.
