Cardy’s Big Shots: Vaccine Drawing Winners Announced at Otterbein

Big Shots 1

Otterbein’s fall semester has been full of in-person classes and campus activities, thanks to our students and their efforts to Protect the Nest

From masking up to getting vaccinated, our students are helping to create a safe community for everyone, including our immunocompromised members. In fact, 80.7% of our study body is vaccinated as of Sept. 30!

To thank our students for getting vaccinated, we held a drawing with big prizes!

All vaccinated students who sent proof of vaccination by Sept. 1, 2021, were entered into the Cardy’s Big Shots vaccination drawing. Names were randomly drawn and announced by President John Comerford in a live YouTube event on Thursday, Sept. 30. You can view the announcement here.

Two students won full tuition for spring semester 2022, up to 18 undergraduate credit hours or six graduate credit hours. The winners were:

  • Nick Tschertan, Zoo and Conservation major from Grove City, Ohio.
  • Lauren Fedder, Zoo and Conservation major from New Franklin, Ohio.

Four students each won a $250 credit toward their Otterbein statement. The winners were:

  • Marissa Snyder, Nursing major from Sunbury, Ohio.
  • Riley Hysell, English Literary Studies major from Columbus, Ohio.
  • Leah McNutt, Athletic Training major from Wadsworth, Ohio.
  • Wanda Gaines, Psychology major from Columbus, Ohio.

Congratulations to our winners — and thank you to everyone who is working hard to keep our Otterbein community safe and healthy!
