Fall is approaching quite quickly — and Otterbein’s Graduate School is ready!

Posted Jul 06, 2020

Otterbein University is in the midst of planning for fall semester 2020. We anticipate an environment of cautious optimism on campus. Otterbein will be ready to greet students both on campus and in the virtual world.

Graduate programs are and will continue to assure student progress towards graduation.  Lecture/seminar-oriented classes will move to online delivery. Lab and needed professional experiences will take place in a blended format, maintaining social distancing when on campus.

The Otterbein faculty has already demonstrated the ability to convert their expertise in teaching to the virtual world. I am sure you would expect nothing less! Spring semester ended in a positive fashion with creative use of both synchronous and asynchronous classes, guest lecturers from across the country, evolving case studies developed and analyzed by students, and laboratory simulations to name but a few experiences. Summer semester has followed with the same level of success. With more time to plan and prepare, I expect fall semester to run smoothly, students to engage actively with faculty and peers, and everyone’s ability to cope with change at an all-time high!

We would love to welcome you to campus for a visit, but please know fall semester will open up with limitations for visitors to campus. Otterbein is aligning the fall opening with the implementation of best practices to protect the safety of students, faculty, and staff. As you are all aware, the definition of best practices and what is known about the COVID-19 virus changes on a rapid and ongoing basis; Otterbein is keeping pace. Information about Otterbein’s policies related to COVID-19 and return to campus can be found on the Otterbein website at www.otterbein.edu.
