Otterbein Commencement Weekend Information and Livestream Links
Posted Apr 27, 2021
In-person commencement ceremonies are a sign of progress and hope. This year, we are holding ceremonies for both the Classes of 2020 and 2021 on May 1 and 2. For the Class of 2020, this will be a delayed celebration of their accomplishments. For the Class of 2021, this is an opportunity to reflect on the obstacles they’ve overcome to finish their academic careers. Complete details are available at www.otterbein.edu/commencement.
All ceremonies will take place in Memorial Stadium, 135 Center St., Westerville.
Saturday, May 1:
1:30 p.m. – Class of 2020 undergraduate and graduate degrees ceremony.
5:30 p.m. – Class of 2021 graduate degrees ceremony.
Sunday, May 2:
9:30 a.m. – Class of 2021 undergraduate ceremony (first).*
1:30 p.m. – Class of 2021 undergraduate ceremony (second).*
5:30 p.m. – Class of 2021 undergraduate ceremony (third).*
* Students could choose which ceremony to attend, with a maximum of 178 graduates seated on the field, with their guests in the stands.
Each graduate has received four tickets for immediate family to watch the ceremony in person, seated in pods with social distancing and facial coverings required.
All ceremonies will be livestreamed online at the following links:
Parking: To allow all of our guests to have a pleasant arrival and departure, we ask guests to honor the following:
- If possible, we ask that you consider traveling with your family pod of four guests. Doing so ensures that the majority of guests will be able to park within a short distance of the stadium.
- As we will be welcoming many guests to campus throughout the weekend, we ask that you please arrive no earlier than one hour of your scheduled ceremony and that you plan to depart no later than one hour of your ceremony’s conclusion.
Guests who would have difficulty walking from the parking lot to Memorial Stadium can be dropped off at Gate A. Gate A is located on the north side of the stadium, closer to the Rike Center.
Reserved handicapped parking is available. Guests will only need to show their accessible seating section tickets to be granted access to this reserved parking.
Ceremony Photos: Grad Images will take each graduate’s picture as they cross the stage. A proof and order form will be mailed by the latter part of May.
According to Grad Images, all orders received by June 1 will be fulfilled and delivered by July 1. Late orders will be accepted until Dec. 31. You are under no obligation to purchase the pictures or respond to the Grad Images correspondence. Grad Images may be contacted via their website or at 1-800-261-2576.
