Otterbein Concert Choir Plans Holiday Tour, Collab with Alumni Choir Directors

The Otterbein University Concert Choir, under the direction of Gayle Walker, will perform five concerts on its annual holiday tour, Dec. 12-16. Performances will be held in central Ohio, Cincinnati, and Richmond, KY. The program will feature festive works by Orlando di Lasso, Abby Bettinis, Jennifer Lucy Cook, and John Rutter. The choir will be accompanied by pianist Wendy Foster. The concerts are free and open to the public. For more information, call 614-823-1508.
A special highlight of the tour is the opening concert on Dec. 12, which will be a collaboration with three central Ohio high school concerts led by Otterbein alumni.
The Otterbein Concert Choir is Otterbein University’s Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass touring ensemble. The group tours annually to destinations both domestic and abroad. Last spring the choir travelled to Charleston, SC. Recent overseas tours have included Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Germany and Ireland. The choir frequently performs at professional conferences, including the American Choral Directors Association Division Conference and the Ohio Music Education Association Conference.
