Otterbein Finishes Top Five for Third Year in a Row in Forbes Contest

Otterbein University has finished fourth overall in the Forbes MyTopCollege social media contest. This marks the third year in a row with a top five finish.

Coinciding with the Aug. release of their America’s Top Colleges publication, Forbes began their annual MyTopCollege social media contest in June. Submissions came from Twitter and Instagram posts that included the university official account handle and the hashtag #MyTopCollege. This year’s theme was time travel. Forbes wanted to hear about favorite memories of your school, what encourages you about your college today and what you think your school will look like in the future. Additionally, there were weekly topics such as hearing about who gets the craziest on gameday, what schools have the wackiest traditions and how college introduced you to your best friend or significant other.

Each week, the Otterbein University community took to their social media accounts and let Forbes know what being a Cardinal is all about. With that support, Otterbein was able to finish fourth overall in the entire competition, falling only behind the three category winners. Assistant Professor of Health and Sport Science Kristy McCray’s post about her campus tradition of having class outside on the first nice Spring day made Forbes’ favorite MyTopCollege posts list this year as well.
