Spreading love can be shown in various ways. With the holidays fast approaching many express their love through making food or giving to those in need.

Otterbein sorority Theta Nu has partnered with the Mid-Ohio Food Bank to donate canned foods for the upcoming holidays. The food bank is based out of Grove City and collects and distributes food to families who are in need.

The food bank’s mission is: “To end hunger one nourishing meal at a time while co-creating communities where everyone thrives.”

This is Theta Nu’s second year collecting food for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Theta’s service chair Gabi Laird said,” I hope to make the food drive an annual event involving the entire Otterbein community.”

“Food security is something I’m really passionate about, so as our service chair, I thought this would be a great event to implement especially around the Thanksgiving holiday,” Laird added.

According to Laird, the holidays are often a time when families and individuals need extra support. “Being a part of a community such as Theta Nu, or Otterbein as a whole, gives us the unique opportunity to make big impact when we all contribute.”

Theta Nu’s food drive runs through Friday, Nov. 17. Anyone can donate by dropping off non-perishable food in the library (OtterBean area), the second floor of the Science Center, or in the Campus Center outside of the front office.
