Otterbein Summer Theatre Announces 2024 Season

Posted May 23, 2024

Otterbein Summer Theatre invites you to join us for a trio of theatrical spellbinders that celebrate three of America’s most momentous decades.

The 2024 season will open with a loving tribute to the harmonically dazzling ‘guy groups’ of the 1950s, the musical “Forever Plaid,” which runs June 6-9 and June 13-15. Sparky, Smudge, Jinx, and Frankie will croon their way into your hearts with songs including “Magic Moments,” “Heart and Soul,” and “Catch a Falling Star.”

Next, enjoy “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play,” a restaging of the beloved 1940s holiday classic within a vintage radio broadcast. A moving, ever-timely tale of love, family, and second chances will have audiences feeling tidings of cheer from June 20-23 and June 27-29.

The last showon the 2024 season lineup is a celebration of the groovy ‘girl groups’ from the 1960s, “Beehive the ’60s Musical,” which runs July 11-14 and July 18-20. It was a decade of big hair and even bigger voices — and these six rockin’ women will be belting the hits including “Be My Baby,” “My Boyfriend’s Back,” and “It’s My Party.”

Season ticket packages are available for $90 each. Individual tickets are $33 each for “Forever Plaid” and “Beehive the ’60s Musical,” and $28 each for “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.”
