The Only Constant Is Change

First, I would like to thank Dr. Don Eskew for his tireless work creating future leaders at Otterbein University. Not only is he an esteemed professor, he’s most recently been both the chair of the Business, Accounting, and Economics (BAE) Department and the MBA graduate director.
As the incoming MBA graduate director, I am honored to lead Otterbein’s dynamic business graduate program into the future. For a quick background, I’ve called Westerville home since 1972. I graduated from Ohio University with a BBA, graduated from Otterbein University with an MBA, and I hold several licenses, including a CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFP (Certified Financial Planner), and FINRA Series 7/66 security. I believe the success of our business graduate program is best demonstrated by the individual successes of our students. Our students achieve these successes by being prepared for future opportunities and the challenges of today.
Some of us may remember balancing checkbooks, waiting for payments to clear our checking account, or waiting for customers to pay their bills on the next “business day.” In case you aren’t aware, those days are numbered. Real Time Payments are here and disrupting the status quo of financial services. Imagine having transactions instantly posted (and immediately available) to your account 24/7, 365 days per year. The future is here. Find out more at Real-Time Payments and It’s the Right Time for Real-Time Payments.
If you happen to see me walking around campus wearing sunglasses, it’s because the future’s so bright, I have to wear shades. Please stop and say hello. We are a community of students, faculty, individuals, and businesses that will succeed by developing and nurturing more positive relationships.
Kurt Lykins, MBA, CPA, CFE, CFP
