Kristina Medvedeva

Dr. Kristina Medvedeva earned her Ph.D. in International Business and Marketing at Saint Louis University in 2019. Prior to that, in 2018, she received her MBA degree (Marketing emphasis) from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. In 2016, she received her master’s degree in North American Studies (Economics and Politics) from the University of Bonn, Germany. In 2007, she graduated with two bachelor’s degrees in Public Relations and Theory and Practice of Teaching Foreign Languages and Cultures (English and Spanish; cum laude) from the Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. In 2023, she also earned the Certificate for University Teaching Skills and the Research Methodology minor from Saint Louis University.
Before becoming a marketing professor, Dr. Medvedeva had worked as a marketing practitioner for many years. Her marketing experience spans from working for big international companies such as IKEA (Russia) and Deutsche Post DHL Group (Germany) to small businesses and non-profit organizations (USA). She considers her extensive professional experience to be an asset in her current role of a professor. In teaching, she focuses on experiential learning, tying theory and practice and providing hands-on experience to students in class. When conducting research her professional background helps her apply a broader perspective to the phenomena under consideration and bridge the gap between research and practice.
Dr. Medvedeva’s academic as well as professional background determined her research focus, namely, consumer behavior. Within the realm of consumer behavior, her research interests revolve around online buyer behavior, subscription services and consumer perceptions of such services, social influence as well as the influence of product warning labels on consumer evaluations. Dr. Medvedeva’s teaching interests include consumer behavior, digital and social media marketing, marketing research, marketing analytics, marketing communications, marketing strategy, branding and retail, principles of marketing, and international marketing.
