I earned a B.S. in Finance and IDS (Information and Decision Science) from Valparaiso University in 2008, an M.A. in Chinese Studies from Valparaiso University in 2009, an M.S. in Business Analytics from the University of Colorado in 2014, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Texas A&M International University in 2023. While pursuing my Master’s and Ph.D. degrees, I have taught business statistics, operations management, and discrete event simulation at the University of Colorado and economics courses at Texas A&M International University. At Otterbein University, I teach undergraduate courses in business finance, intermediate corporate finance, and international finance, and a graduate course in financial management. I have worked in a multinational automotive company in Indiana and a logistics company in Illinois. I have traveled to more than 20 countries, which has equipped me with a unique perspective and firsthand knowledge of various cultures, enabling me to provide more comprehensive and culturally sensitive education to my students. I consistently aim to deliver instruction in a manner that empowers students to not only grasp and comprehend concepts but also readily apply them to their future real-life experiences. My primary research focus revolves around the cryptocurrency market, complemented by additional interests in big data, user-generated content (UGC), and machine learning.
