Jobs at Otterbein

Why Otterbein University?

Otterbein is building an inclusive community around our unique model of liberal education, which intentionally blends liberal arts and sciences with professional studies through integrative and experiential learning.  Our mission is to prepare our graduates to think deeply and broadly, to engage locally and globally, and to advance their professions and communities.

Otterbein’s history underlies this vision and inspires us to make ongoing progress and improvement in our commitments to diversity and equity.  Otterbein is proud to have admitted women as students and hired them as faculty since our founding in 1847; to have admitted students of color before the American Civil War; and to have welcomed Japanese-American students who had been sent to internment camps during World War II.

This legacy inspires Otterbein to the ongoing work of building equity and justice in our community.  We embrace diversity and cultivate leadership, integrity, and engaged citizenship among our faculty, staff, and students.  Otterbein’s friendly and vibrant environment fosters community and welcomes differences in culture, experience, and perspective.  Diversity is a key value in Otterbein’s recruitment, retention and advancement of faculty, staff, and students.  If you like to challenge norms, elevate discussions, and embrace differences, welcome to Otterbein University!

Otterbein's location enjoys the quaintness of a small town with easy access to a big city.  Otterbein is located in the small city of Westerville and within 15 minutes from Ohio's largest city of Columbus.  If you are unfamiliar central Ohio area, please enjoy the following two videos that describe both the cities of Westerville and Columbus.
