Get Ready for READY Day!

Ready Day Logo 9-23-26Starting in the Fall of 2025, Otterbein shifted the course calendar to dedicate a whole day for students to attend seminars and workshops, as well as departmental and career Fairs in order to foster students preparation. Otterbein’s READY Day guides students through programming and opportunities personalized for their year of study with some common experiences shared by all.

Developed after several years of discipline-specific career jumpstart programs, students gave the READY Day concept very high marks specifically acknowledging:

  • The benefit of connecting with alumni in their field of interest.
  • Learning and practicing networking skills in real time situations with professionals.
  • The chance to explore internship and employment opportunities.

For Students

Save the date for 9.23.26 for READY Day! All students are expected to participate, as classes and labs have been cancelled on this day. READY Day is meant to prepare you to understand who you are, what your passions are, network with employers and alumni, and learn about professional development topics within and outside your major. The day is personalized to your class year with a unique focus for the experiences you’ll have on READY Day.

First Year Students:
The focus is on learning about yourself, your major, and how to prepare for your entire Otterbein experience.

Sophomores and Juniors:
The focus is on planning your immersive experiences, exploring internship and professional opportunities with business and community partners, and developing professional skills in your area of interest.

Seniors:
The focus is on planning for life post-Otterbein, making meaningful connections with your life and career goals, and refining your professional etiquette and skills.

On READY Day, Every Student Will have the opportunity to:

  • Make the connection between what they learn in the classroom and their future aspirations.
  • Connect with and learn from Otterbein alumni and area leaders in their field.
  • Attend the Next Destination Fair, a career and graduate school fair, where they’ll meet with representatives of area businesses, community agencies, and graduate schools to explore their next destination options!

For Alumni
