Alumni Spotlight: Sarah Prindle Mabee ’07 (English)

Sarah Prindle Mabee graduated from Otterbein in 2007.  Her English path led her to a graduate degree in Library Science.  She now serves as Library Director at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri.  In addition to supporting college student research, Sarah does scholarly work of her own.  Her article, “Curiosity is a Luxury of the Financially Secure: The Affective Thresholds of Information Literacy,” published in Library Trends in Winter 2020, was named one of the Top 20 best instruction…

Jestine Ware '11 Jestine Ware graduated from Otterbein in 2011.  She uses her English degree to combine passions for social justice and creative writing.  Currently, she works as a grant writer for Heartland Alliance, one of the largest nonprofits in Illinois.  She spends her days writing on behalf of the most marginalized people in Chicago to secure funding for her company to provide services, policy work, research, community organizing, healthcare, and advocacy.  After hours, she’s a creative writer who recently…

Seth Stobart ’22 Seth Stobart is a double English (Literary Studies concentration)/ Philosophy major with a minor in Film. He also serves as co-editor of Aegis, the Otterbein Humanities Journal, and as the treasurer of Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honors Society. Mary Jackson ‘21 Mary Jackson ’21 (Creative Writing and Studio Art Double Major) Otterbein senior Mary Jackson will learn the inner workings of a theatrical production as she interns this spring at the Abbey Theater of Dublin (Dublin, Ohio, that is!). She’ll follow the Abbey’s upcoming production of #Charlottesville from script to stage, applying her talents as a writer, artist, and graphic designer to promotional materials for the production.  This solo play addresses the August 2017 ‘Unite the Right’ rally and ensuing riots that occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Drawing on interviews with…
