Dr. Beth Daugherty’s new book

Before she was Virginia Woolf, famous novelist, essayist, and diarist, she was Virginia Stephen, apprentice, reader, learner. In her book, Beth Rigel Daugherty examines three major threads of Virginia Woolf’s apprenticeship, her homeschooling, teaching, and book reviewing. Many already know about Virginia Stephen’s education in her father’s library, but Daugherty’s talk and reading will focus on the libraries she learned in outside the family home: the London Library and the British Museum Reading Room.

It is an honor and a privilege to host Dr. Daugherty, and we hope you will join us!
