Becker Gallery Reception: William Fry, “What’s a Portal Doing Here?
Posted Sep 18, 2024
William Fry, Otterbein 2010, is a graphic designer and photographer living in Cincinnati. As he says in his LinkedIn profile “In my undergraduate studies, I learned, not only how to draw, design, and write, but also how those skills speak to each other, interact, and can be applied on a broader scale. In my English courses and art critiques, I distinguished myself as someone who is capable of communicating complex ideas in a nuanced, detailed way, a skill I have continued to develop in my professional life.”
His show, “What’s a Portal Doing Here?” considers liminal spaces through the use of light and found objects. As William states “When I make art, I find that it is intrinsically tied to our relationship with the digital world. In a way, so many of us live one foot in the real world and one foot in the digital.”
It will be on display through December 2024.
