Library LSP Update 5: Alma Production Freeze

Posted May 02, 2025

We’re nearly there! Our old and new library service platforms are currently in the midst of data transference. This current freeze will not affect library users but you may have noticed how the Courtright Memorial Library hasn’t switched out any of their displays recently… well that’s because we can’t make any changes to our collection materials locations within our catalog during the migration. Now that we’ve begun all the data transfers, we are well on our way to getting back to “normal” operations – or as normal as they will be while we test out and acclimate to the new Alma system.

Be on the lookout for these upcoming dates:

  • May 23rd INN-Reach freeze: USER IMPACT: OPAL/OhioLink/SearchOhio requests can no longer be processed. Recommendations for users to renew currently checked out items before this date. Physical items can still be requested through InterLibrary Loan.
  • June 3rd,Sierra Fulfillment freeze
  • June 4th – 18th Sierra offline – all circulation done manually. USER IMPACT: Items checked out/in during this time will not be reflected in your virtual library account. Library staff will be using offline functions to check out/in items during this time.
  • June 18th Go live with Alma and Primo. USER IMPACT: Librarians will be back to operating online to check in/out materials.
  • June 27th Go live with Rapido. USER IMPACT: OPAL/OhioLINK requests reopen
