Second Round of COVID-19 Relief Funding to Students is Available

Posted Feb 26, 2021

Thanks to the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II), Otterbein University is delighted to offer a second round of COVID-19 Relief Funding to provide relief for students coping with the ongoing financial ramifications of the pandemic. Individualized links to the application will be sent directly to students’ Otterbein email accounts the week of March 8.

“The pandemic is continuing to create financial difficulties, and we’re hoping this additional funding will offer some important relief to our students and their families,” said Jefferson Blackburn-Smith, Otterbein’s vice president for enrollment management. “Otterbein is unwavering in its commitment to access and affordability and has long cared about helping families navigate the reality of unexpected circumstances.”

The funding is available to be used by impacted students to cover any component of the student’s cost of attendance or emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, healthcare (including mental health) or childcare.

“We are committed to keeping our students on track to complete their education. This crisis is painful enough — a student’s education, future and goals shouldn’t have to be put on hold, too,” said Blackburn-Smith.
