Terri Jones ’84 died March 16, 2022. Born July 7, 1962, in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was the daughter of Suzi (Shelley) ‘62 and Ron Jones ‘61. She is survived by her spouse, Nancy Swisher and son Sam Swisher, a current Otterbein student. Terri graduated from Otterbein with a degree in business administration. She played tennis and was in the Sigma Alpha Tau (Owls) sorority. Terri was an administrative assistant at Otterbein University Counseling Center and the former office manager at Cannell Graphics in Columbus.

Well known in the tennis community, Terri served as Executive Director of Greater Columbus Tennis Association (GCTA) since 2009 and its Board of Trustees since 2006. She was U.S. Tennis Association Summer League Coordinator, Chair of the Arnold Sports Festival Committee, and a member of the U.S. Tennis National and Midwest Associations. Terri played an integral role as the local lead for the 10 and under pilot initiative while bringing tennis to all the Columbus Public Schools. A lifelong resident of Westerville, Terri was a graduate of Westerville North High School and Otterbein University. She was a member of Church of the Master United Methodist Church, the Otterbein “O” Club, and Westerville South High School Athletic Boosters Terri was an avid gardener, shopper, enjoyed playing tennis and pickleball and loved spending time with her family. She was a fan of the New England Patriots and the Ohio State Buckeyes. On college football Saturdays, she was known to watch any game not involving TTUN. Terri was the social director of her neighborhood and was known for hosting porch parties.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Otterbein University administration, counseling center staff, and the “O” Club; the GCTA community, Church of the Master family, Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio, Haddam Place family; and the many friends for their support.

Survived by a brother, Jeff ‘83 (and Karen) Jones; a sister, Penni (Atticus) Myser; nephew, Tyler (Khansa) Royer; nieces, Ronni Royer (Eli Lithiluxa) and Karli Royer, and extended family, Emma Sanders James, Bailey Sanders and Emma Secrest.

Preceded in death by grandparent’s Walter Shelley ’31 and Grace Harrold Shelley ’33 along with uncle Walter Shelley ’59 .
