Barbara Gerber Roush, Class of 1959

Barbara Gerber Roush ’59 died Dec. 27, 2020. Barbara was born Aug. 9, 1937 to the late Dwight Gerber and Audrey Miller in Canton, OH. Barbara attended Otterbein College where she met her husband Dean Roush ’57 and was involved in the Kappa Phi Omega (Onyx) sorority.
Barbara spent her working years as a homemaker and childcare provider, she was a longtime teacher of children. She was also a member of North Broadway United Methodist Church. Barbara was an avid reader and
birdwatcher in her free time.
Surviving are her husband, Dean Roush ’57; children, Julie ’81 (Ron) Cooper, Stephen (Jan), Jonathan, and Rebecca (Bill) Roush; grandchildren, Sarah (Joe) Jancura, Kaleb Roush, Kaitlyn (Tyler) Williams, Charlotte Roush, Nick Cooper, Thomas Maginnis, and Martina Maginnis.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dean Roush Jr.
