Bruce Hickin, Class of 1961

Bruce Hickin ’61 died May 2, 2022. Bruce was born in Boston Township, to the late Owen and Blanche Hickin on June 4th, 1939. Bruce was a graduate of Hudson High School and Otterbein University where he was involved int eh Pi Beta Sigma (Pi Sig) fraternity. Bruce enjoyed his work as Area Manager for Social Security Disability Determination for the State of Ohio. Bruce loved to sing and always had a joke to cheer his friends and family. He also loved history and enjoyed sharing the ironies of history with anyone who would listen. Past activities included Blendon Lodge 339, National Disability Examiners, PERI, Church of the Messiah Men’s Choir, Adult Learning Council of First Community Church. Bruce is survived by his wife, Cathie Hawkins Hickin ’62, is loving sons, Timothy (Tammy), and Todd (Jennifer), four wonderful grandchildren: Kyle, Josh, Michael, and Lauren.
