Carl Schafer, Class of 1949

Carl Schafer ’49 died Nov. 14, 2016.  He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.  He worked in retail in the Dayton, OH, area in Elder-Beerman and Rike’s department stores.  He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Cox Schafer ’48; two children; and four grandchildren, including Ben Maurer of the Otterbein Police Dept.
