Carol Clark DeLano, Class of 1964

Carol Clark DeLano ’64 died July 5, 2021. She graduated from Otterbein with a major in elementary education and was involved in Kappa Phi Omega (Onyx) sorority. After graduating from Otterbein she accepted a job as a kindergarten teacher in Garden Grove California School System. She had 39 kids in the morning and 39 in the afternoon. Carol worked for Mount Vernon City Schools as a Reading Intervention Specialist into her 70’s, following a teaching career of more than 20 years. Carol and her late husband Leon were very active in sports cars and racing. Leon become chief tech inspector at the Mid Ohio Racetrack. Carol then became one of the first licensed female tech inspectors in Ohio.
