Carol Peterson Carter ’57, died May 1st, 2020. Carol was born on September 4, 1935 and was a long-term resident of Tallmadge, OH relocating to Uniontown in 2007. Carol graduated from Otterbein College in 1957 with a teaching degree and was a member of the Tau Epsilon Mu (Talisman) sorority. She went on to be an educator within the Tallmadge School System and thoroughly enjoyed playing a part in the education of the students she came to love. Always in search of the next challenge, Carol went back to college and acquired a MSE ’84 from the University of Akron. While a student there, Carol worked as a secretary in the Guidance Department and later joined them as an Academic Advisor, continuing her passion to play a pivotal role in her students’ lives during her long career.
Carol was a member of United Church of Christ and an integral part of her husband’s ministry. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Ed) Carter ’58. Carol is survived by her son, Scott; daughters, Julie and Michele (Jim); her sisters, Joyce (Jim), Linda (Don), Nancy, brother-in-Law David (Marsha); grandchildren, Josh (Jesica), Zach, Samantha, Sydney, Andee Lyn, and Derek and nieces and nephews.
