Christine Fetter Greene ’63 died April 8, 2021. She was born on September 15, 1941 in Columbus, OH to the late Richard ‘34 and Irene Fetter. Christine graduated from Richwood High School and went on to study at Otterbein University, where she was in the Tau Epsilon Mu (Talisman) sorority.

Christine was a 3rd generation student at Otterbein. Her siblings were also alumni; Mary Fetter Motz ’69 and Linda Fetter McGurie ’67. She worked for and with Lillian Frank for 3 years and had many wonderful experiences. Women’s Glee Club was a big part of the Otterbein years and getting the chance to go on tour in New England and Florida. “The friendships that have endured for over 50 years are probably my strongest memories. Many of these were solidified during our senior year living in Clip House. I feel that going to a liberal arts college enriched my life with knowledge and experiences that I have used over the years. I know it made me a better teacher. I am thankful that I was able to be in the once ‘quiet, peaceful village’, and to carry those memories with me the rest of my life.”

Christine embarked on a distinguished teaching career that spanned 41 years, including curriculum development for preschool and elementary education, with a special emphasis on gifted young students. She also devoted time to organizations such as the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and church activities such as Operation Friendship throughout her life and enjoyed participating in book clubs and exercise groups.

Christine married Austin Greene in 1972 and they had two children, Meredith Greene (Brian Stechschulte) and Derek Greene (Ann Cox). Granddaughter Anona arrived in 2017.
