Clara “Betty” Kirkpatrick Colsch, Class of 1957

Clara ‘Betty’ E. Colsch ‘57 died on Oct. 13, 2018. She was born on Feb. 7, 1935 in Powell, Ohio. Betty earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Otterbein University in 1957 and went on to teach for more than 45 years in Ohio, Illinois and New Jersey. She was an active member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for 48 years. During her time at Otterbein, Betty was a member of the Tau Delta sorority.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Caroline (Pecko) Kirkpatrick; brothers, William Kirkpatrick, Leonard Kirkpatrick; husband of nearly 60 years, Cecil Colsch; and sons, Peter and Patrick Colsch. She is survived by brothers, James Kirkpatrick and John Kirkpatrick; children, Carrie Mayhan, William Colsch, Ann Grubb; and grandchildren, Kate Colsch, Maria Mayhan, and Caroline Mayhan.
