Dale E. Griesmeyer, Class of 1956

Dale E. Griesmeyer died on Jan. 15, 2019. He was born June 20, 1931 in Dayton. A graduate of Miamisburg HS in 1949 and Otterbein University in 1956. He worked for 30 years at Centerville HS as a math teacher and was voted Teacher of the Year by Centerville staff in 1986. He was a delegate for the NEA and an officer in the OEA.

During his time at Otterbein, Dale was a member of Pi Kappa Phi and met his wife, and fellow Otterbein alumna, Marie Bowman Griesmeyer ’56. Dale is preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Bess Griesmeyer; and brother, Alvin Jr. He is survived by his wife Marie, daughters Lynn Sorge, Cheri Brady; grandchildren, Beddilu Heath, Lotery Heath, Justin Brady, and Karina Brady; great grandchildren, Bennett Brady and Shirley Omietansk.
