Daniel Weaston, Class of 1968

Daniel Weaston ’68 died July 23, 2020. He was born in Westerville, Ohio on November 5, 1946 to the late Virginia Hetzler Weaston ’37 and Harry Weaston ’35. Dan served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and as a JAG officer in the Army Reserves.

As a graduate of the Otterbein University and Capital Law School, Dan served as an attorney for the Adult Parole Authority for Ohio. For 10 years after retirement he was an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Columbus State Community College.
Dan also served faithfully for over 30 years at Better Way Ministries, a street ministry and shelter in Columbus’ Short North neighborhood, praying for and leading thousands of people to faith and positively impacting the lives of countless others.

Dan is survived by his children; David (Erica) Weaston, Scott (Darla) Weaston, Ashley Twinem, Joe (Anna) Twinem, and Allison Schneider, and 15 grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving sisters Diane ’66 Birckbichler and Dee ’73 & (Bill ’73) Standish, and many nieces and nephews.
