Donald Rapp ’55 died August 24, 2020. Don was born January 31, 1933 to the late Irvin and Glenna Filbrun Rapp in Dayton, Ohio. Don graduated from Otterbein College, where he met his wife, Patricia Tumblin ’55. Don was involved in ROTC, Tan & Cardinal, Quiz & Quill, track & field and the Lambda Gama Epsilon (Kings) fraternity. After Otterbein, he went on to earn his law degree from Ohio State University and was a member of the Ohio Bar Association. After serving as an attorney at several law firms, Don served most of his career as a trust officer at a Dayton bank. From there Don served as a legal magistrate for Montgomery County (Ohio). His post-retirement jobs included serving as a Skycap at Dayton International Airport, and volunteering at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio and Bert Fish Hospital in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Don was very involved with the Kiwanis Club. He and Pat attended church faithfully where they served on many committees and where Don eagerly participated in church dramas. Don enjoyed writing and reading poetry. He is survived by his wife Pat; younger brother Ed; 3 children, Linda, Tom, Mary Ann and their spouses; 6 grandchildren whom he adored and also nieces, nephews, cousins and one uncle.
