George Fisher ’56 died February 20, 2019. He was born on February 3, 1934 in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Franklin and Beatrice Fisher.
George graduated from Ashland High School, Otterbein University and Ashland College Divinity School. He attended Seminary at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. While attending Otterbein he was active in Lambda Gamma Epsilon (Kings) fraternity, choir, tennis, baseball & basketball.

George was ordained as a Christian minister on August 9, 1959, by the Evangelical United Brethren Church, after which he served 25 years as a senior pastor, youth pastor, choir and athletic directors with the United Methodist Church. In 1987, he became a Mental Health Counselor, then the director and counselor at Family Care Counseling Center in Maitland, Florida and Deltona, Florida. He was an active member of the Deltona Alliance Church.

He is survived by his wife Esther Fisher, his stepson Dr. Douglas (Catherine Neal) Havelka, stepdaughters Lori (Allen) Pinkerton and Amy (Paul) Mock, his grandchildren Adam (Ashley) Pinkerton, Amy Pinkerton, Chelsea (Scott) Bass, Emily (Jonathan) Garcia, Alex (David) Spanogians, Adam (Kelly) Womacks, and great-grandchildren, Cailin and Bentley Bass, Hannah Pinkerton, Jack Garcia, Kora Kligensmith, Otto and Esme Spanogians. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Philip Fisher.
