Harold Thomas Main, Class of 1967

Harold “Tom” Main ’67 died Sep. 5, 2021. He was born June 18, 1943, in Ashley, Ohio to the late Harold and Geraldine (Hanover) Main. Harold was a graduate of Elm Valley High School and Otterbein College where he earned his degree in Mathematics and was involved in track and field, “O” club, and Sigma Delta Phi fraternity.
Tom was a Math Education Teacher for River Valley Local Schools and Tri-Rivers Career Center where he also coached athletics and helped to found the River Valley chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was a lifetime member of Ashley United Methodist Church where he held many leadership positions. Tom was a lifelong farmer, and he loved preserving his soon-to-be Bicentennial family farm. He was an avid fan of OSU athletics, especially the women’s basketball program.
Tom was preceded in death by sisters, Barb Masters, Jean Borden and Jerrie Talbert. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Teri Main; son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Sara Main; sister, Janis Sidener; brothers, Marion John (Esther) Main and Larry (Nancy) Main; brothers-in-law, Eugene Borden and Richard Masters; as well as nieces and nephews.
