John Baker, Class of 1951

John H. Baker ’51 died March 9, 2016. He served 13 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserves. He worked in the banking industry and became chairman of the Board of Directors after retiring. He was involved with several civic organizations and was recognized with an award for his more than 55 years of volunteer work in Zanesville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elisabeth “Betty” Hillers Baker; a daughter; a son, Thomas J. Baker ’88; four grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law.
